Here are the books that I plan on reading on this readathon 🙂
First, I’d like to finish Persuasion, by Jane Austen. I am halfway through with it, and it’s very easy to read. I am quite enjoying it so far, so I think I will read it fast. I plan on staying up as soon as the readathon starts until I finish it.
After that, I will read Beloved, by Toni Morrison. I am not going to lie: I am dreading reading that book since I bought it, last year. But I have to read it for my university, so I’d better take advantage of the readathon and be done with it soon.
The last book I am planning on reading is The member of the wedding, by Carson McCullers. It’s another book for my university, but I have no problems with it (yet). It’s quite a short book, so I think it will be a fast thing.
If I finish all those books and still have some time (which would be quite surprising, but very welcome), I would start A clash of kings, by George R. R. Martin. It’s the second book in the Song of ice and fire series, which I am enjoying quite much so far. I have just started watching the first season of the TV show and I am really pumped to start it as soon as I finish the show, and I believe that I can give myself a break after all those university books 🙂
So, I will let you know how it all goes. For now, I will go to prepare everything I need, because, for me, the readathon starts in 30 minutes. Bye!
So I decided to participate in the bout of books 8.0 read-a-thon, because I am taking way too much time to finish Game of Thrones, by George R. R. Martin.
Bout of books is a reading marathon in which the goal is simple: read more than you usually do. It was created by Amanda and Kelly from Bout of Books Blog.
I am studying at university and working at the same time, so I have very little time for reading. But this week I wanted to give myself a push to finish GoT already, and have decided I must finish it by Sunday.
I am currently on page 482, so I have 325 pages to go. It isn’t much, but most days it’s hard for me to read because I’m really tired. This is why I made myself undergo this challenge: it’s less than 70 pages a day, and I can totally do that. Let’s see how I do! I’ll keep you updated.
How about you? Are you participating? How many and which books have you decided to finish? Let me know!
Read you soon!
So I’ve been away for a while… Yeah. I’m sorry, but I’ve been reading a lot! (Also busy with work and university…)
I finished Game of thrones, by George R. R. Martin and gave it 4 stars (out of five). Then I started reading Moby Dick, by Herman Melville, and listening to the audiobook at the same time. This way I can learn the pronunciation of many words! 😀
I did enjoy participating in this readathon, but I couldn’t enjoy it very much since I had (and still have) a lot of work to do. So when my holidays come, around December 15th, I will participate in a readathon again 🙂
What are your thoughts? Did you like it? What do you think about readathons? Let me know in the comments 🙂
Read you soon!
