Book shuffle tag

This is a very cool book tag I found on YouTube and it consists of putting the shuffle mode on on your music device and choosing the book the random song suggests to you. Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed doing it! 🙂

Emerson Lake and palmer – Food for your soul

It reminded me of The great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald, because it appears to me as a very glamorous song, and I believe this book is glamorous as well, because of the time it is set in, the parties given then… Also, the song is quite fast paced, and to me this relates too, because the book is really short and, in my opinion, fast paced.

Beu Sisters – Once upon a broken heart

It reminds me of P.S. I love you, by Cecilia Ahern. It’s a story about a woman who is suddenly widowed very early, and has to learn to cope with the loss of her husband, who’s left her some letters she has to open as months go by. The lyrics talk about feeling alone and finding someone and being happy ever after, but I found the melody quite sad at first (as the book), and happy at the ending, which is also like the book.

Rush – Cygnus X-1 Book II
It instantly reminded me of 1984 by George Orwell, because certain sounds always remind me of dystopian stories, but old dystopian stories. Probably because my mind relates this music to Roger Water’s The wall, which is highly dystopian, in my opinion, and quite “old”.

Muse – Innocent voices

I will choose, for this one, The neverending story, by Michael Ende. The music sort of reminded me of travelling in the air, swiftly, through a magical land, and that is just what Atreyu did on Fujur’s back, discovering the wonders of Fantasia. ♥ Great!

The cranberries – Just my imagination

At first it made me think about travelling great distances by car/bus and seeing the monotonous landscape swiftly go by, but when I heard the chorus, “Just my imagination, just my imagination it was”, it made me think of Northanger Abbey, by Jane Austen. The character there gets way too carried away by her imagination and is about to make a big mistake thanks to this, so it is clear why it instantly made me think of it 😛

Read you soon, and happy reading ♥
